EKURHULENI – The ANC in Ekurhuleni says a recent Public Protector’s report into governance and service delivery failures in the DA-led City of Cape Town supports its long-standing criticism of the DA’s leadership. The party argues that the findings reflect similar challenges experienced in Ekurhuleni during the DA-led coalition government between 2021 and 2023, including political instability, service delivery problems, infrastructure delays and community unrest.

The ANC says its current administration has restored stability, improved governance and prioritised service delivery since returning to power. It also highlighted the expansion of the City’s debt relief programme, which now offers qualifying households a 100% write-off of eligible municipal debt older than 12 months. The party urged residents to judge political parties by their record ahead of the 2026 local government elections.
