Deputy President Paul Mashatile marked the 20th anniversary of the African World Heritage Fund in Midrand, highlighting progress in preserving Africa’s cultural and natural heritage. He noted growth in heritage sites, skills development, and greater community involvement across the continent.
He emphasised that heritage is also an economic asset that can drive tourism and jobs, while calling for more investment and stronger partnerships to protect and grow Africa’s heritage for future generations.
