KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Leseja Senona is fighting his suspension, describing the disciplinary process against him as unlawful and unfair. In a five-page letter addressed to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), his legal team argues that the decision to suspend him was not properly justified.
His lawyers say the mere mention of Senona’s name in the Madlanga Commission is not enough reason for disciplinary action. They also claim the DPCI failed to conduct a disciplinary hearing within the required 60-day period. Senona is expected to appear before the commission again on 1 June.
