KwaZulu-Natal Premier and IFP chairperson Thami Ntuli has rejected accusations that the province is xenophobic, insisting that communities in KZN live peacefully with foreign nationals. He made the remarks while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the party’s unveiling of its Johannesburg mayoral candidate.

Ntuli said recent protests in Gauteng and KZN over undocumented foreign nationals are being misinterpreted as xenophobia. He attributed public frustration to the growing number of undocumented migrants, stressing that long-standing foreign nationals in the province continue to live in harmony with local communities. He also warned that circulating video clips are creating a misleading picture of South Africa and KwaZulu-Natal.
