Ghana plans to remove some fuel taxes and supply-chain levies to ease pressure on consumers as pump prices rise due to the Middle East conflict involving Iran. Government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the changes will take effect within a week, with final details to be confirmed after consultations with industry stakeholders.

The country, which imports about 70% of its refined fuel, has been hit by sharp price increases after global oil costs surged. The National Petroleum Authority recently raised minimum price floors, pushing petrol up about 15% to 13.30 cedis per litre and diesel up roughly 19% to 17.10 cedis.
