The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is urging the public to donate blood as demand continues to rise. Donor Relations Practitioner Mompati Sebogo highlighted that the need for blood increases during this time of year, particularly due to a rise in road accidents.
Sebogo explained that SANBS requires around 3,500 units of blood daily, with demand climbing even higher over the Easter period and approaching winter, when more surgeries are scheduled. He encouraged people to donate regularly, stressing that the need for blood remains constant and does not take breaks.
