The Border Management Authority is stepping up border security ahead of the Easter holidays, with a focus on ensuring that travellers’ visas and travel documents are properly checked. Authorities expect a surge in movement to and from neighbouring countries, making thorough visa verification and compliance a key part of managing cross-border flows.
BMA Commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato says departments including Social Development, Tourism, and Public Works are working together to address cross-border challenges. By strengthening checks on visas and documentation, the partnership aims to facilitate smoother, safer travel while preventing illegal entry and other immigration-related issues during the busy holiday period.
