The quest into what led to the deaths of 21 teens at an Eastern Cape tavern continues. Eastern Cape’s community safety MEC, Weziwe Tikana Gxothiwe discussed this with eNCA’s Dan Moyane.
The deaths of 21 teens at an East London tavern are not the result of a stampede.
That’s the word from the Eastern Cape Community Safety MEC, Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe. She says post-mortem results will be released in due course.
The teens were found dead from unknown causes early Sunday morning.
The Eastern Cape Liquor Board has shut down the Enyobeni tavern.
The board’s chief inspector Zola Tyikwe says once investigations by the police have been completed, it will lay criminal charges against the owner.
