PRETORIA – Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga has ruled that Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala’s application will be heard at midday on Monday. Matlala’s lawyer, Advocate Fatima Missi, had asked for the matter to be postponed to Tuesday, citing difficulties the legal team experienced while consulting with him at Kgosi Mampuru C-Max Correctional Centre.
The application concerns Matlala’s constitutional rights during his testimony before the Madlanga Commission. Missi raised concerns about restrictions and logistical challenges in accessing and consulting with Matlala while he is in custody.
