PRETORIA – The Hawks say Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane is not under investigation. The directorate says the complaint it received has been referred to the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption and does not amount to the opening of a criminal case.

The complaint was lodged by Public Interest SA over payments made to Medicare24 Tshwane District before its R360 million SAPS health services contract was cancelled. The organisation alleges Dimpane, who was SAPS Chief Financial Officer at the time, may have breached the Public Finance Management Act after R48 million was paid to the company.
