RATANDA – Residents of Ratanda in Gauteng are demanding a reliable water supply after the community went without water for more than four weeks. Frustration over the prolonged shortages led to a protest in the area.

The protest turned deadly, with the community claiming two people were killed during clashes with police. Community activist Bayanda Radebe alleges one of the victims was sitting outside a tavern and was not involved in the protest.
