CAPE TOWN – Parliament’s SAPS ad hoc committee is set to meet on Wednesday to deliberate on its draft preliminary report after months of hearings involving senior police officials, intelligence figures and civil society organisations. The committee is investigating allegations of political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system, raised by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

The committee has been tasked with finalising its findings by 16 July. Once completed, the final report will be submitted to Parliament and tabled in the National Assembly for further debate and consideration.
