KWAZULU-NATAL – Thousands of runners are making steady progress in the Comrades Marathon, having passed through Pinetown west of Durban and continuing along the N3 towards Pietermaritzburg. The race is well underway, with participants from across South Africa aiming to achieve their personal goals.

Among the runners is Anthony Sigudla from Mpumalanga, who hopes to improve on last year’s performance. After completing the race in 12 hours in 2025, he is targeting an 11-hour finish this year. Sigudla says taking part in the Comrades Marathon is an essential experience for any serious runner and is looking forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the iconic race.
