DURBAN – Malawian nationals who have been staying at Sherwood Hall in Durban for nearly a month have started their journey back home. Buses arrived at the hall on Friday to begin the repatriation process, with women and children being transported first before additional buses return to collect the men.
Many of those leaving expressed relief and excitement at finally returning to Malawi. One man said he was happy that the process had begun and that his wife and child were among the first to leave. His wife said she was overjoyed to be going home after enduring difficult conditions and looked forward to reuniting with her family.
