Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi and Deputy Minister Andries Nel have announced plans to implement the Court Rationalisation Reports aimed at improving South Africa’s justice system. The reforms, based on recommendations from a committee led by Dikgang Moseneke, seek to address apartheid-era inequalities by improving access to courts and justice services.

The government has approved measures to redefine court jurisdictions, expand court infrastructure, and increase the number of judges. The first phase of implementation is expected to begin in July, using existing facilities, while a second phase will focus on building new courts across the country to create a more efficient, fair, and accessible justice system.
