The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to take action against Minister Gayton McKenzie over alleged xenophobic remarks. The call comes after Ramaphosa addressed the nation on migration and border management amid growing concerns about anti-illegal immigration sentiment in South Africa.
EFF MP Sam Matiase said the President should act against Cabinet members accused of promoting hostility towards foreign nationals. He argued that failing to address such conduct undermines efforts to combat xenophobia and urged Ramaphosa to take decisive action against McKenzie and others accused of fuelling anti-foreigner sentiment.
