MBOMBELA – Two bodies were recovered on Sunday morning after a vehicle plunged into the Crocodile River near Mbombela. Emergency teams successfully pulled the vehicle from the crocodile-infested river and retrieved the occupants.
Reports indicate that the driver failed to stop at an intersection, causing the vehicle to crash through a fence before ending up in the river, about 500 metres from the road. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
