JOHANNESBURG – Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie says Bafana Bafana will depart for the FIFA World Cup on a special chartered flight on Monday after all players received their visas. The team’s preparations were disrupted when visa delays prevented several players and officials from travelling to Mexico as scheduled.
McKenzie described the situation as embarrassing and unfair to the players, calling for those responsible to be held accountable. Deputy Minister Peace Mabe echoed the concerns, as criticism mounted against South African Football Association over the handling of the travel arrangements.
