KLIPRIVIER- The Department of Home Affairs will host a Smart ID Card High-Impact Community Programme at Kliprivier Police Station on Friday, 29 May 2026, from 08:00. The initiative aims to bring essential Home Affairs services closer to residents, making it easier for people to apply for and collect Smart ID cards.

First-time Smart ID applications are free for South Africans aged 16 and older who present an original unabridged birth certificate, while citizens aged 60 and above can obtain a first Smart ID card free of charge by presenting their green ID book. Re-issues cost R140, passports cost R600, and reprints of birth, death and marriage certificates are available for R70. Cashless payments only will be accepted.
