MPUMALANGA- Ronald Lamola addressed the opening of the Southern African Development Community Foreign Ministers Retreat held at Kruger National Park, urging Southern African countries to strengthen unity and resilience amid rising global geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty. He warned that these pressures are contributing to higher food prices, inflation, and financial strain across the region, and called for deeper cooperation and regional integration to protect economies.

He also condemned attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa, stressing that migration should be properly managed and that law enforcement authorities must be the only bodies empowered to uphold the law. The retreat continues until 24 May, with discussions expected to focus on regional stability and economic cooperation.
