BARCELONA- Pedro Acosta secured pole position for the Catalunya MotoGP at the Circuit de Barcelona, delivering a strong qualifying performance for KTM. The Spaniard posted the fastest lap of 1:38.068 to claim his second career MotoGP pole, with Franco Morbidelli joining him on the front row alongside Alex Marquez.
Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi suffered a setback after crashing before his final qualifying run and will start 12th on the grid. Jorge Martin qualified ninth after a difficult weekend that also saw him crash in Q1, while Francesco Bagnaia failed to progress from Q1 and will start 13th. Marc Marquez is absent following surgery, with the sprint race set to take place before Sunday’s Grand Prix.
