JOHANNESBURG- President Cyril Ramaphosa has dismissed Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe following growing pressure over several controversies linked to her conduct in office. In the meantime, Sindisiwe Chikunga has been appointed as acting minister while a permanent replacement is being considered.
Tolashe faced criticism after allegations emerged that she misled Parliament about two luxury vehicles donated to the ANC Women’s League, which were reportedly later registered under her children’s names. She was also accused of making irregular staff appointments. Both the Democratic Alliance and ActionSA opened criminal cases against her, claiming she misled Parliament.
