PRETORIA- Suspended National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola is set to appear again in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, this time alongside alleged underworld figure Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, directors linked to Medicare24, and 12 senior police officials. The group faces allegations connected to a R228 million tender fraud case involving violations of the Public Finance Management Act.
Masemola, who previously appeared alone in court, maintains his innocence as the State moves to consolidate his case with that of Matlala and the other accused for a joint prosecution. Authorities say investigations are at an advanced stage, with a more detailed charge sheet expected, while heightened public interest is anticipated as the courtroom prepares for a full dock appearance.
