SEDIBENG DISTRICT- The Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela, together with the Gautrain Management Agency, will officially launch the upgraded Vereeniging Intermodal Facility in Sedibeng on 14 May 2026. The modernised facility features solar power, CCTV cameras, high-mast lighting and other smart infrastructure aimed at improving safety, efficiency and commuter experience. It also includes vehicle maintenance workshops, covered loading bays, structured hawker stalls and car wash bays.
The upgraded hub is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve pedestrian safety and strengthen mobility in the area. It will also create economic opportunities for informal traders and small businesses while supporting Gauteng’s goal of building an integrated, people-centred transport system.
