MEYERTON- Eleven suspects aged between 27 and 46 were arrested at a fuel depot in Meyerton following an alleged fuel theft operation uncovered by the Hawks. Authorities said the Hawks’ Tactical Operations Management Unit acted on a tip-off about a planned robbery at the facility.
Police placed the depot under surveillance and observed two tankers entering the premises before the arrests were made. Preliminary investigations suggest the depot had been placed under administration, while police also suspect that some security personnel at the site may have been working together with the suspects in the alleged crime.
