DURBAN- National Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams will remain in custody until 13 May after appearing before the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. He was arrested in Cape Town and later transferred to Durban, where he faces two counts of defeating the ends of justice and three counts of fraud linked to alleged interference in the Sindiso Magaqa murder investigation.

The State alleges Adams visited convicted killer Sibusiso Ncengwa while he was held at Westville Correctional Facility during his trial, and opposed his release on bail, citing non-compliance with a court order. His defence argued that he made attempts to confirm the warrant for his arrest and stressed that custody is unnecessary as he has minor children and a verified alternative address. The case has been postponed for a formal bail application.
