KOMATIPOORT- Police divers in Komatipoort closely monitored crocodile activity in the Komati River for several days before recovering human remains from a large crocodile. Inside the 500kg reptile, authorities found two human arms, part of a ribcage, and chest tissue. The crocodile was later killed as part of the investigation.

The discovery is believed to be linked to a missing Gauteng businessman whose vehicle got stuck on a flooded low-level bridge. Search teams used drones and helicopters to track the area, noticing one crocodile lingering near where the man was swept away. According to officials, the reptile’s unusual behaviour raised suspicion, leading to its capture and the recovery operation.
