GAUTENG- The family of a 15-year-old deaf girl is calling for justice after she was allegedly raped by a security guard at a school in Ekurhuleni last year. The suspect was arrested in August but was later released on bail and is due back in court this month. The Gauteng Department of Education has confirmed that he has since been suspended from his duties.

The family says the teenager has been deeply affected and is not the same since the incident, with signs of ongoing emotional trauma. Her mother says the delays in the legal process are making the situation worse, adding that her daughter often shows anger and distress when the abuse is discussed.
