STRAIT OF HORMUZ- Iran has proposed a deal to reopen shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and end the U.S. blockade, while postponing discussions on its nuclear programme. However, Donald Trump has rejected the offer so far, saying he is not satisfied with the proposal. Iran maintains it is open to diplomacy if the United States changes its approach.

Trump reiterated that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons but signaled hesitation about military action, saying he would prefer a negotiated solution. Speaking at the White House, he questioned whether to pursue force or strike a deal, while also indicating he could extend military engagement without needing approval from Congress.
