POLOKWANE- Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebe Maburna, has been denied bail by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court. Chauke has been in custody since November 2025 and recently submitted a new bail application, arguing that there were new facts to consider after his initial request was rejected.
His lawyer, Michael Khumalo, told the court that Chauke was not receiving proper medical care for a leg injury from a 2024 car accident and also cited his responsibility toward his newborn child. However, Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi ruled that these reasons did not qualify as new evidence. Chauke, who faces charges including attempted murder, is set to appear at the Polokwane Regional Court on 15 May.
