MUMBAI- Ryan Rickelton produced a brilliant unbeaten 123 off 55 balls, smashing the fastest century by a Mumbai Indians batter as he powered his side to a massive total of 243-5 at Wankhede Stadium in the Indian Premier League. The South African wicketkeeper-batter, playing in place of Quinton de Kock, lit up the innings with a stunning 44-ball ton and helped Mumbai set a daunting target.
However, Sunrisers Hyderabad responded with a powerful chase, led by fellow South African Heinrich Klaasen, who struck an unbeaten 65 to guide his team to victory with eight balls remaining. Hyderabad’s six-wicket win marked their fifth straight victory and lifted them to third on the IPL table, as Rickelton’s heroics ultimately went in vain.
