PRETORIA- North-West businessman Suleiman Carrim will not testify at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria after falling ill and being confined to bed following a heart attack. The development was confirmed by evidence leader Matthew Chaskalson after the conclusion of testimony by suspended Tshwane Deputy Police Chief Umashi Dhlamini.

Chaskalson explained that Carrim had been scheduled to appear on Wednesday, but a medical certificate prevented his attendance. Plans to call another witness, Mukhotse, were also disrupted after he applied for Chaskalson’s recusal, effectively delaying proceedings. As a result, the Commission will now resume hearings on Thursday with a new witness.
