BLOEMFONTEIN- President Cyril Ramaphosa said South Africa’s transition to democracy was more than a political shift, describing it as a profound moral transformation. Speaking at the Freedom Day celebrations at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein, he emphasised that the country’s hard-won freedom came at a cost and must be actively protected by all citizens.

He highlighted the Constitution as central to this transformation, calling it a shield against injustice and a foundation for equality. Ramaphosa said it represents a commitment that South Africa will never again be governed through exclusion, ensuring dignity, freedom, and equal rights for all.
