Eight suspects were arrested on Sunday, 26 April 2026, following a business robbery in Bedfordview. The Gauteng Tactical Response Team, working with Gauteng Traffic Police, acted on intelligence about suspects stealing stock from a storage facility. The group fled in a Toyota one-ton truck and two Volkswagen Polo vehicles, prompting a coordinated police response supported by the Air Wing, which led to their interception in Zandspruit, Honeydew.
Among those arrested are two South African Police Service members stationed in Florida. Gauteng SAPS management has condemned the alleged involvement of its officers, stating that such actions damage the organisation’s integrity. The suspects are expected to face charges of business robbery and possession of stolen property, while investigations continue.
