Two sergeants from Tembisa Police Station were arrested after allegedly trying to smuggle drugs into Boksburg Correctional Centre. Sergeant Mathema Doctor Matlala (43) and Sergeant Lebohang Phillip Madisha (41) were stopped during a routine vehicle search at the prison entrance on Wednesday morning while traveling in a marked SAPS vehicle.
During the search, officials found a plastic bag hidden under a seat containing 82 Mandrax tablets and dagga. Both officers were arrested on the spot and are expected to appear in court soon.
