EKURHULENI- Two SAPS officers in Ekurhuleni were arrested after they were allegedly found with illegal drugs at a Department of Correctional Services facility in Boksburg. A correctional officer searched their SAPS vehicle and reportedly discovered 82 Mandrax tablets and dagga. The officers were detained at Dawn Park SAPS.
The South African Policing Union (SAPU) has called for a fair investigation into the matter. While condemning the alleged criminal conduct, SAPU stressed that proper procedures must be followed and highlighted the ongoing challenge of drug-related activity within correctional facilities.
