According to Lebanon’s health ministry, Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon killed 89 people, including 12 medics, and injured 700 today. The strikes mainly hit southern Lebanon and follow escalating tensions between Hezbollah and Israel amid the broader US-Israeli conflict with Iran. Smoke rose over Beirut’s southern suburbs as the attacks unfolded.
Meanwhile, US military officials signaled readiness to resume combat if Iran fails to reach a negotiated settlement. Top General Dan Caine emphasized that a ceasefire is only a pause, with US forces prepared to act with speed and precision. Talks between US and Iranian officials are scheduled in Pakistan on Friday, as hopes for a lasting peace remain uncertain.
