A wedding in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, was called off after the groom and his father were arrested for drunk driving during a Saturday night roadblock operation. The arrests were part of Operation Nenzani LaEzweni, which targets motorists driving under the influence.

Authorities say the crackdown has intensified over the Easter period, with more than 180 drunk driving arrests recorded across the province. In one operation alone in Port Shepstone, 51 drivers were arrested, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety.
