Enzo Fernandez will miss Chelsea’s upcoming FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale and the Premier League clash with Manchester City after being handed a two-game ban. The suspension follows the midfielder’s recent public comments about his future, in which he said he would “look at his options after the World Cup” and expressed a desire to live in Spain.

Fernandez’s agent, Javier Pastore, criticised Chelsea’s decision, calling the punishment “completely unfair.” He told the Athletic that the Argentina international does not understand why he has been sanctioned for his statements.
