Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Solly Malatsi emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting digital media platforms as engines for job creation, while promoting responsible content production. He highlighted the need for an enabling environment that balances growth with accountability in the digital sector.
In line with this, the government plans to boost investment and expand opportunities for young people in digital media. Parliament has also tasked the podcasting industry with developing a self-regulatory code of conduct within six months to ensure content standards are upheld.
