Gauteng’s Roads and Transport MEC, Kedibone Diale Tlabela, will lead the rollout of the 2026 Provincial Easter Road Safety Campaign on Thursday, 26 March, along the R101 in Hammanskraal, City of Tshwane. The campaign comes as the Easter period sees increased traffic, and aims to raise road safety awareness, demonstrate law enforcement readiness, and encourage responsible driving during the busy holiday season.

Activities will include road maintenance and intensified law enforcement targeting issues such as drunken driving, speeding, fatigue, pedestrian visibility, vehicle roadworthiness, and seatbelt compliance. The campaign also promotes patience, tolerance, and shared responsibility among road users, with media invited to cover the event.
