The legal team for Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala has accused the state of deliberately frustrating their case by failing to disclose requested evidence. Matlala and four co-accused appeared in the Johannesburg High Court in connection with the attempted murder of socialite Tebogo Thobejane, businessman Joe Sibanyoni, and music producer Seunkie Mokubung.
Matlala’s lawyer, Annelene Van Der Heever, said they requested affidavits and expert evidence related to downloads from Matlala’s cellphone over a month ago, but these have not been provided. The case has been postponed to May 7 to allow for the disclosure of the outstanding evidence.
