Phothiza Holdings Spells Success at the 2nd Annual Frankly Spelling Bee Championship

Sharpeville, Vereeniging – The El-Bethel Worship Center in Sharpeville, next to Vuka Taxi Rank, resonated with the sounds of success as Phothiza Holdings proudly presented the second annual Frankly Spelling Bee Championship on March 21st. The spelling bee was a celebration of linguistic talent, drawing in thirty-five eager spellers from grades 6-10 all over the Vaal Triangle.

The 2024 edition of the Frankly Spelling Bee Championship witnessed an impressive attendance, with young participants hailing from Orange Farms, and schools across Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging, Sharpeville, and Bophelong. The turnout was truly commendable.

“El-Bethel Worship Centre in Sharpeville, Vereeniging, is the most preferred venue because most of our educational events occur during school holidays. The church accommodates us, assists in preparations, and allows us to use their kitchen at no cost. We are immensely thankful for their partnership and the significant role they play in the success of our events,” commented George Lephoto, the Director of Phothiza Holdings.

The competition was a testament to the students’ hard work and Phothiza Holdings’ commitment to educational excellence. Parents, teachers, supporters and stakeholders filled the venue, creating a vibrant atmosphere of community and encouragement.

Portia Mawai, a beloved staff member, served as the Master of Ceremonies, her voice guiding the spellers through each suspense-filled round. Her contribution was pivotal in making the event a memorable experience for all.

The highlight of the day was the award ceremony, where the top three spellers were honored with trophies, symbolizing their mastery of spelling. Their achievements were not just personal victories but also a reflection of the collective spirit of the Frankly Spelling Bee Championship.
