The family of the late Mathapelo Tsotetsi (32 years) is reaching out to the community of Sebokeng for any witnesses to her murder to come forward. Mathapelo died exactly seven days ago on Tuesday the 2nd of February at Sebokeng Hospital.
“I saw a post around 22:00 hrs on Tuesday in a Facebook group saying that someone had been stabbed at Tikane’s place Sgureng. Soon after that, I received a call from my sister telling me that she received a call from Mathapelo’s mother informing her that Mathapelo had been stabbed and she died at hospital Sebokeng,” said Mathapelo’s sister.
Mathapelo becomes yet another unsolved case as no arrest has been made yet although the Police are investigating. The family is pleading for witnesses to come forward with any information that might lead to the culprit’s arrest.
A family member recalls, “In the morning we went to the police station to open a case we had no clue who stabbed her, while I was there the police officer received a WhatsApp voice note that was trending. The guy on the voice note he was telling someone that a guy came in the tavern (Tikane’s place) and stabbed a lady five times. While we were at the police station, Mathapelo’s boyfriend called saying he is coming to the police station to give his statement. We waited but he never came.”
