As the country is plunged into Stage 6 Loadshedding, residents of Sharpeville, Tshepiso, Boipatong and other surrounding areas have been in perpetual darkness as their power has been off for days since Saturday Morning. The power disruption is due to a vandalized Substation in the Tshepiso/Divencheng area which is falling victim to theft for the second time within a three weeks.
Residents gathered on Sunday for a meeting with the councilors regarding a way forward as residents have alleged that the criminal syndicate responsible for the theft is operating from the informal settlement which has sprung up next to the Substation.
There has not been an Estimated Resolution Time Issued yet but do stay tuned to Lekoa Fm 91.0 as we will be speaking to local Councilors in the area for updates regarding the issue.
