THE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY INTO TAXI VIOLENCE CONTINUES ON 13 FEBRUARY 2020

The public hearings of the Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence in the Gauteng province will

continue on Thursday, 13 February 2020 at 10:00.

The Commission will continue to hear testimonies from the Gauteng Department of Roads and

Transport’s Deputy Director for Conflict Resolution: Registration and Monitoring, Mr Peter Dhlamini

and Assistant Director in same unit, Mr Thembela Tutu, on Thursday, 13 February 2020, at 10:00.

Mr Dhlamini will continue to give testimony about Conflict Resolution mechanisms for the taxi industry in Gauteng

province and further provide details regarding his role as a former official in the office of the Registrar.

Mr Tutu‘s testimony will relate to Taxi Industry Conflict Resolution mechanisms in place for

Johannesburg Region.

The legal team is in the process of identifying and/or consulting with other witnesses who will appear

before the Commission over the next few weeks.
